Comming back to the office after the holidays, the first news that struck us was that digital advertising surpassed print in 2014. As a whole, media investments grew by 2,6 % or 328 million SEK, thanks to a strong economy and low interest rates.

  • Investments in digital media grew by 24 % while print lost more than 10 %. The latest victim of alarmist headlines – TV – lost 3,6 % compared to 2013.
  • We also learned that more people watch TV online: the numbers of streams started grew by 2 %, led mainly by nes broadcasts covering the events in Paris. SvT had 10 021 302 starts while TV4 came in second place with 2 762 517. Third was MTG with 796 889 starts.
  • Lastly, a number of domain names were sold at an auction to the highest bidder. www.tv.se was bought by media company Schibsted for 2,18 million SEK.
