It’s no secret that the media landscape is changing, probably faster than ever before. News this week provided a veriety of proofs for this ongoing trend:

  • According to MMS, some 2,5 million Swedes have access to one or more SVOD services. Netflix dominates with 1,5 million users. This is a year-on-year increase of roughly 600 000.
  • TV house MTG are losing viewers but increasing its profit margin. In it primary target group, 15-49, MTG has a market share of around 30 %.
  • The Swedish government is working on a proposal to help publishers in their digital transitions. The minister of culture, Alice Bah Kuhnke, said that the daily press is important for the vitality of the Swedish democracy.
