As part of PHD’s Big Hug charity initiative, PHD Ireland last week hosted its annual industry tag rugby competition, which saw over 300 rugby enthusiasts attend the event, made up of 20 teams of PHD clients and media owners, spectators and anyone looking for a bit of light hearted fun.

The matches were as competitive as ever and following five minutes of sudden death injury time, the PHD/OMG team of 10 girls and 8 boys were named this year’s victors, stealing reigning champion Google’s crown.

However, the event is more than just a sterling show of enthusiastic athleticism, but a way of supporting charities close to the agency’s heart.  This year the proceeds raised from the raffle and entry fees, will be divided between Pieta House, which works to prevent suicide and self-harm and shared with colleagues at PHD Poland, who have launched their own initiative to raise money for a team member’s son, Max, who needs lifesaving surgery in the USA.
