In a career spanning nearly 30 years, Hilary has worked with many of the world’s largest and most successful brands gaining a true understanding on the role that media can play to help brands grow and the challenges facing local and global organisations. She works hard to help PHD succeed in every market in the region – she’s also works hard to improve her golf game and skiing ability when time allows.
1988 She began her media career at CIA in London, one of the UK’s early media independents, as a media planner.
1991 Hilary joined Manning Gottlieb Media, one of a new wave of strategic planning focused media companies in the UK market. In her time at MGM, Hilary rose to the position of Managing Partner with responsibility for a portfolio of high profile accounts including: Nike, Next, French Connection, Starbucks and Johnson & Johnson.
2001 Following the acquisition of MGM by Omnicom, Hilary joined OMD Europe as General Manager helping OMD establish its European network and working with iconic brands like Apple, Sony and Pepsi.
2005 The decision to roll out PHD as a global network, saw Hilary take the reigns as President of PHD Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where she began the task of establishing PHD in more than 26 EMEA markets and attracting new regional client partners such as Unilever, Expedia, the Gap and Elizabeth Arden.
2009 Following PHD’s appointment by Unilever to the role of Global Comms Planning AOR, Hilary helped establish PHD’s global planning unit and cement PHD’s reputation as a strategic power house. New business wins such as Canon also helped drive success in EMEA.
2011 To celebrate PHD’s 21st birthday, Hilary launched PHD’s Big Hug initiative – encouraging offices around the world to give their time to charitable causes or to fund-raise for charities that mattered locally. Bug Hug initiatives raised more than $500,000 that year.
2015 Hilary was named an Agency Innovator by the Internationalist, having been the driving force behind the EMEA network’s new business success and establishing PHD’s distinct culture of curiosity, courage and openness.
