PHD UK is splitting the role of head of planning between two executives as part of a ‘left brain, right brain’ model.

Rebecca Burchnall brings to the position a more performance-specific background whereas Andrew McLean provides experience of brand-building.

Both have been promoted from within the agency. Burchnall, who becomes the first woman to take the head of planning role in PHD’s 28 year history, has been with the agency since 2011, most recently as head of audience planning. McLean first joined PHD in 2016 as strategy director.
