PHD Melbourne, which usually celebrates its birthday with a dinner party, this year held a\u00a0video conference with attendees wearing a splash of purple and featuring custom-made Zoom backgrounds.<\/p>\n
UnLtd, the industry\u2019s social purpose organisation, put on a special edition of Backyard Trivia centering on the year 2012, PHD Melbourne\u2019s first year of operations.<\/p>\n
The celebrations also featured a video montage\u00a0of staff, sharing personal testimonials about the agency and what they miss most while\u00a0working from home.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhilst we\u2019ve all been in crisis mode for the past two months, and the news around us has been so negative, we thought it was more important than ever for our organisational culture to mark this occasion, just like we would any other year,\u201d says PHD Melbourne\u2019s general manager, Simon Lawson.<\/p>\n
The agency opened its doors in with 15 staff and ANZ as its foundation client. PHD\u2019s Melbourne office now has more than 80 staff today and a blue-chip client roster which still includes ANZ, as well as CUB, 7-Eleven, AFL, Porsche and Priceline.<\/p>\n
In support of UnLtd\u2019s #AdsAtHome competition calling on agencies to recreate major ads while working from home, the birthday celebration also saw the launch of PHD Melbourne\u2019s submission, recreating the classic 1999 Budweiser commercial, Whassup Bud.<\/p>\n
