{"id":23621,"date":"2021-11-28T22:48:09","date_gmt":"2021-11-28T22:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.phdmedia.com_\/australia\/?p=23621"},"modified":"2021-11-28T22:48:09","modified_gmt":"2021-11-28T22:48:09","slug":"phds-mark-jarrett-joins-mfa-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phdmedia.com\/australia\/phds-mark-jarrett-joins-mfa-board\/","title":{"rendered":"PHD&#8217;s Mark Jarrett joins MFA board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Media Federation of Australia (MFA) board voted at its annual general meeting to\u00a0appoint PHD Australia CEO Mark Jarrett to the board, and to re-appoint five directors for further two-year\u00a0terms.<\/p>\n<p>The returning directors, voted unanimously by the board, are Dentsu Media CEO Sue Squillace, IPG Mediabrands<br \/>\nCEO Mark Coad, Initiative CEO Melissa Fein, MFA CEO Sophie Madden and This is Flow CEO Jimmy Hyett.<\/p>\n<p>Katie Rigg-Smith, CEO of Mindshare, has stepped down from the board.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Jarrett has joined the board as an Omnicom Media Group representative, replacing former OMD Australia CEO Aimee Buchanan, following Buchanan\u2019s appointment as CEO of GroupM Australia &amp; New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>Jarrett,\u00a0with\u00a0more than 20 years\u2019 experience in Australia and the UK, has been CEO of PHD for the past two years,\u00a0having previously held the MD role.<\/p>\n<p>MFA CEO Sophie Madden: \u201cKatie has been an engaged member of the board for nine years, and we\u00a0appreciate and thank her for her tireless commitment and the passion she brought to the role. We\u2019re pleased to\u00a0be welcoming Mark, a respected leader with more than 20 years\u2019 experience in Australia and the UK, who will\u00a0bring a valuable perspective to our work in championing a dynamic and valued media industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peter Horgan, MFA Chair and CEO of Omnicom Media Group, thanked MFA members, the many MFA committees, working groups, and the MFA board, for the time and energy they put into supporting the industry during the year.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201c2021 was an exceptionally productive year for the MFA, with our submission to the ACCC Digital\u00a0Advertising Services Inquiry, the launch of the Successful Agency Pitching Guide and updated MFA Transparency\u00a0Framework, the creation of the MFA DE&amp;I Advisory Council and the introduction of our industry\u2019s first diversity,\u00a0equity and inclusion measurement via the annual Mediai survey, among other projects.
