PHD expands network management with Hilary Jeffrey and Ian Clarke

Following its most successful year to date, PHD Worldwide has continued its investment in talent by appointing Hilary Jeffrey to the newly created role of executive vice president of PHD Worldwide and Ian Clarke will succeed Jeffrey as president of PHD EMEA. Ian moves from his current role as CEO for Omnicom Media Group Central & Eastern Europe.

The enhanced management team at PHD reflects the unprecedented success in new business growth, following significant new business wins for the network that have included Volkswagen Group, Carnival, Delta Airlines and major additional assignments from existing network clients such as FERRERO, Unilever, GSK and Bayer. PHD has held the number one spot in the global new business league table, published by pitch consultant R3, since June.

In her new role, Hilary will oversee the integration and smooth running of new and existing key global clients. She is an Omnicom Media Group veteran, with over 25 years spent at agencies within the holding company network; first at Manning Gottlieb OMD as managing partner in 1991 and then at OMD as general manager of Europe from 2001. She joined PHD as President of EMEA in 2006 and has been responsible for growing the network and expanding PHD’s relationships with major global clients such as Unilever, Bayer and latterly Volkswagen Group.

Ian will be responsible for further strengthening the network’s presence in EMEA, which presently consists of 41 offices in 35 countries across the region.  Ian joined Omnicom Media Group (OMG) in 2006 as a global account director and since 2008 has managed OMG’s Central and Eastern European operations. As an addition part of his OMG responsibilities, Ian has overseen PHD’s relationship with FERRERO, which has grown to 39 markets worldwide since 2014. Previous to OMG, Ian was managing partner at Starcom.

Both roles will be part of the expanded PHD WW Management Board and are effective from 1st December. Hilary and Ian will report to Mike Cooper, CEO of PHD Worldwide, with Ian also reporting to Colin Gottlieb, CEO EMEA at Omnicom Media Group.

PHD has 4,000 people working across 84 offices and expects staff numbers to grow by approximately 20% by early next year.
