PHD Hong Kong has once again been recognized for mobile excellence. The agency’s “HKJC Striding On With A.I. Image Recognition” campaign for The Hong Kong Jockey Club picked up a Bronze in the Social Impact/Not-for-Profit category at the Smarties China 2018 awards, held on 13th September in Shanghai. This was the only win by a media agency from Hong Kong at this year’s Awards, a testament to PHD’s continued success and recognition as Hong Kong’s leading agency.

The “Striding On: 21-Day Challenge” was developed as a digital engagement programme which encouraged Hongkongers to embrace new challenges and take the first steps to self-improvement. Given that consumers intuitively share their daily activities, usually through images on mobile social networks, PHD ingeniously tapped into A.I. image recognition technology to unlock a wealth of mobile-native data for targeting. This allowed the agency to use precision marketing, achieving personalization-at-scale to increase mass engagement with consumers.

“Innovative technology ensures brands achieve what would otherwise be impossible. With the help of A.I. image recognition technology, we analyzed and coupled multiple mobile-native data sources to deploy personalized ads at superhuman speeds, effectively capturing golden moments of opportunity to engage consumers.”
