Media Manager – Diageo & Guinness

Reporting directly into our Media Director, this is a brilliant opportunity to work with some of the market leading brands in the UK, specifically Guinness.

Our work on Diageo is best-in-class, we seek to deliver effective, engaging, and innovative plans for our brands, whilst challenging ourselves to never stand still and always explore new opportunities. Our brands are available in major supermarkets and specialist retailers but we are also growing our online and d-comm presence as we see online grocery shopping continue to grow.

The opportunity

Apart from getting the chance to work on one of the world’s most exciting marketing campaign brands in Guinness, this role opens up great opportunities not just to sharpen your skills in offline and digital media planning, but in delivering working, commercial viable media ecosystems and data strategies. If you fancy getting under the skin of some of Britain’s best known alcohol brands, flexing your creative thinking and delivering brilliant media planning then this might be the role for you.

The people

Sitting within the highly supportive client planning team, you will get to work collaboratively with each other as well as other teams across the agency including digital and investment. You will also get the chance to upsell some of our expert capabilities within the Omnicom Media Group, working with and learning from our group led specialists in order to drive more revenue for both Diageo and PHD.

There are also many opportunities to engage with more people across the agency outside of your work remit by getting involved with the activities and initiatives of our agency experience team. Whether you want to run your own social club, be part of our D&I change, help our moments team celebrate achievements and occasions or find ways to improve our working environment, via our Future of Work Group, PHD is an agency of collaborators and will bring more than expected to your experience of agency life.

The Ideal Candidate

The person we’re looking for will be a fantastic, driven, and ambitious media planning specialist who is manager level or ready for that next step up. You’ll be excited and open to sharing your ideas and here, thinking outside of the box is always encouraged. As a challenger brand ourselves, PHD is a place where creativity thrives and we’re not afraid to make a dent in our own industry as well as society as a whole.

Knowledge and experience required

  • Ability to write and support strategic recommendations that are underpinned by insight
  • Ability to build a strong professional relationships with colleagues, cross-agency team and clients
  • Recognising the importance of being authentic at work, taking responsibility for actions of yourself and the team
  • Anticipate the needs of the team and makes arrangements accordingly
  • Be proactive on accounts to ensure we are challenging clients and are ahead of the game in social.
  • Deliver work that others can’t (or won’t) by not stopping at the first “It can’t be done”

  • Demonstrate a curious and positive attitude
  • Be approachable and supportive to all you work with
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail
  • Encourage regular feedback within the team both positive and constructive
