Mike Cooper, CEO of PHD Worldwide will join Andy Wilman, the executive producer of The Grand Tour for a fireside chat. They’ll discuss how The Grand Tour was born and how it became one of the most valuable media properties in Amazon’s inventory.

In seven short years, Web Summit has grown from 400 attendees to over 70,000 attendees from more than 170 countries. No technology conference has ever grown so large so fast.

Web Summit has become “Europe’s largest and most important technology marketplace”. An unrivalled global meeting place for the world’s most disruptive technology companies and those interested in how that disruption can transform their businesses and their lives.

How the Grand Tour was born

Hear the fascinating story of the 18-year road trip that led to the creation of two of the biggest motoring shows in the world – Top Gear and The Grand Tour.

The Grand Tour has subsequently become one of the most valuable media properties in Amazon’s inventory. The premiere episode, “The Holy Trinity”, was Amazon Video’s most watched premiere episode of all time, after viewers tuned in from a range of markets as diverse as the US, the UK, Germany, Austria and Japan.

Today, The Grand Tour is available in all 195 countries and the last series was “the most sought-after digital video-on-demand title available globally in the quarter to March 2017” (source: Parrot Analytics). And the show recently launched a computer game based on each episode.

BAFTA-nominated Andy Wilman joins Mike Cooper to discuss the journey so far and what the future may hold for the show – and, more importantly, for brands.
