PHD Belgium scoops Media Agency of the Year title at AMMA Awards 2021

Award Wins

The AMMA Awards have been celebrating the best campaigns, most unique concepts and greatest talents for over 20 years. At the AMMA Awards 2021, PHD Belgium won Media Agency of the Year and two Silvers.

Resilience, teamwork, dedication, and perseverance are important assets in normal times, but this year, they have proven to be absolutely essential. At PHD Belgium, despite the downward trend in the market, growth was 8% in 2020, and the agency attracted no less than 11 new clients, local and international.

The digital expertise of the entire agency received a substantial injection, resulting in tightly-staffed, clustered teams, covering both online and offline activities and providing a more comprehensive service for all media activities.

Within this framework, the PHD Culture Council was established, with a series of new and inspiring initiatives and weekly challenges to bring employees together. Emphasis was placed on group training and chats to stay abreast of the latest industry developments and standards.

PHD also launched its Investment Planner, a tool that helps determine and allocate media budgets by linking ad spend to business results. Finally, PHD built on its role as a thought leader with the publication of Overthrow II, a book bringing together its latest ideas on challenger brands, which also led to a strategic workshop for clients.

Christine Brone, Managing Director of PHD Belgium, commented: “We are happy and proud to be crowned Media Agency of the Year. The AMMAs rewarded us for our strong brand, business and team developments in 2020. Our agency thrives on individuals who pour their heart and soul into everything they do for their clients, each and every day.”

PHD Belgium also received two Silver AMMAs. The first for its ‘#SamenEndoor’ campaign for client Telenet in the Best Media Strategy category; and the second in the Best Native & Content category for the SBS Belgium campaign, “wtFOCK: Generation Woke engages its audience”.
