Following PHD’s Cannes Lions panel debate “Will a robot win a Lion?” which took place last Wednesday on the Discovery Stage at Lions Innovation, panelists Mark Holden (PHD Worldwide’s strategy & planning director), Kevin Kelly (founder of Wired) and Conor Brady (chief creative officer at Critical Mass) discuss the key points raised in the debate with compère Huge Cameron, PHD UK’s chief brand development officer.
With the majority of the room voting a surprising yes, a robot will win a Lion, the group spent some time discussing this further. Would a robot win a Lion in a category specifically created for AI? In the future will AI work alongside a human team of creatives and ultimately collaborate to create the best work possible or would AI and humans compete against each other? What does this mean for our industry and where would AI sit within a media agency?
