PHD Partners With Australia’s Women in STEM Ambassador

News

The Australian Government’s Women in STEM Ambassador has partnered with PHD Australia to bolster the perception of careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

At present, only 16 per cent of Australia’s STEM-skilled workforce are women. The media agency will partner with the Women in STEM Ambassador to develop and execute a national awareness-raising campaign encouraging primary-school girls and boys across Australia to engage in STEM careers. PHD will be responsible for all media planning and buying including content development and PR.

Australia’s Women in STEM Ambassador Program campaign manager Rachel Misitano said: “We are truly inspired by the ideas PHD has come up with to meet our strategic objectives, demonstrating a superior understanding of our target audience. We admire their innovative and unconventional approach and are extremely excited to see their ideas come to life.”

PHD Australia head of content and social Jo Liddell, who will be leading the account, added: “We were astonished by the percentage of women in the STEM-skilled workforce, and knew we needed to create more than just a campaign, but inspire a movement to really impact future career selection for 8-12-year olds.  We are incredibly proud to support such an important initiative and look forward to working alongside the Women in STEM Ambassador to bring this campaign to life.”
