As the fastest growing top-tier media agency in Ghana, PHD has announced a programme of activities to mark its 10th anniversary, taking place throughout the rest of 2021.
Commenting on the agency’s plan to celebrate the milestone, Bright Ladzekpo, MD and CEO at PHD Ghana, said: “We are proud of our people and humbled by our performance so far. At a time when the world is having to endure over a year of lockdowns and restrictions to help bring the coronavirus under control, there is the need to re-energise and prepare for a rebound as we look ahead to economic and socio-economic recovery.”
PHD Ghana opened for business in Accra in August 2011, with only Ladzekpo on board. He selected three young graduates – Maudina Mensah-Kane, Emma Asante and Owusu Panin Owusu-Ankomah – from top Ghanaian universities to form a pioneering staff team.
The agency now has a team of 27 supported by specialists from OMG’s West and Central Africa team and PHD’s EMEA regional and global leadership teams at the Worldwide offices in London.
ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITIES
Outlining the anniversary activities, Ladzekpo said, “We have planned our celebration under three thematic areas of focus – People, Process and Performance. Our management and staff teams will undertake a series of small but meaningful internal activities, culminating in a purposeful community-based project for social good. Our clients, technology and media partners will experience the impact of an evolved way of working.
RECMA RANKINGS
PHD is currently one of the top three media agencies in Ghana, according to a rankings report by RECMA in June 2020, for billings for overall activities in 2019, and is poised to move up based on a growth in activities in 2020, to retain its position as the fastest-growing agency.
PHD’s under-30s, who participated in the West Africa Young Media Lions competition during Creativity Week in 2020, won the top prize to retain their winning title from 2019.
In 2015, Ladzekpo became the first from Africa to be selected for PHD’s global exchange programme to work with Worldwide’s leadership and international business teams in London.
PHD Ghana has retained its agency of record status with existing and long-standing clients, including Scancom (MTN Ghana), Unilever, SC Johnson and AYO, among others.
