Agency wins gold and bronze Media Lions for Volkswagen and Google campaigns

PHD has won two trophies in the Media Lions competition at the 2022 Cannes Lions.

PHD Sydney picked up gold in the ‘Use of Branded Content Created for Digital or Social’ category for ‘The Ad Break Championship – GTI Hack’, a campaign created for Volkswagen, in partnership with creative agency DDB Sydney.

PHD New York won bronze in the ‘Use of Events’ category for ‘Google – Real Tone’, a campaign created for Google, in partnership with GUT Miami.

The wins came after PHD was shortlisted five times in the Media Lions as the lead agency – the most of any media network – for its work on campaigns for the British Heart Foundation (two shortlists) and InLesco school of sign language (three shortlists) in Costa Rica.

PHD was also the credited media agency on 12 other Lions winners (in the Health & Wellness, Design, Film Craft, Entertainment, and Industry Craft Lions), winning seven silver Lions and five bronze.

‘The Ad Break Championship – GTI Hack’, combined the power of television advertising with mobile, giving Australians the chance to compete to win a Volkswagen GTI in a mobile racing event dubbed the “Golf Ad Break Championship”.
