PHD announced Karine Courtemanche as CEO of PHD and Touché! Canada, with a remit to further drive growth and expansion in the market.
After 10 years acting as president of Touché! and Omnicom Media Group Montreal, Courtemanche will report into Worldwide CEO, Philippa Brown with her main responsibilities to oversee all PHD and Touché! Canada office operations and national activities.
“I can’t think of a better way to start the new year than by welcoming Karine as CEO of PHD Canada,” says Philippa Brown, CEO of PHD Worldwide. “Her passion for creativity and her energetic nature make her the perfect fit to continue building on the great work and impressive growth we’re already seeing from our team in Canada. I have no doubt that Karine will enable us to do our best work yet.”
Courtemanche has been a member of OMG Canada’s leadership team since OMG acquired Touché! in 2004. She will now spend most of her time in Toronto, leaving Caroline Moul to lead PHD Canada as President and Alain Desormiers to lead Omnicom Media Group’s Quebec agencies, including Touché!, which he founded 25 years ago. Working closely with Desormiers and Moul, Courtemanche will help clients achieve disproportionate growth through creativity and maintaining a challenger mindset.
“I’m extremely proud to be part of an organisation which consistently supports the growth and development of its employees. My last 15 years with OMG have been a truly inspiring and rewarding journey,” explains Courtemanche. “I have no doubt 2020 will bring its share of stimulating challenges, with a primary focus on the growth of our brands in the Toronto market.”
“Karine has been a driving force in the Canadian media industry the entire time that I have known her,” says Cam Reston, CEO of OMG Canada. “Her passion for creativity and her drive has helped build her agencies into the best in the business and in this expanded role she’ll be able to bring that magic to even more of our staff and clients.”
