PHD UK launches 3-day festival to bring media industry back together post-pandemic

News Our People

As media businesses across the UK begin to return to their offices in greater numbers, on Tues 19th – Thurs 21st October, PHD UK has created Reconnect, a three-day festival designed to give its staff, clients and media owner partners the chance to come together face-to-face in a way that’s been impossible across the past 18 months.

Hosted in PHD’s London office at Bankside, the festival content offered a mix of inspiration, education and fun with key headline speakers including best-selling workplace culture author Bruce Daisley, ITV Group Director of D&I Ade Rawcliffe, Amazon IMDbTV head, Lisa Rousseau and Tim Ellerton, Commercial Director of the British Olympic Association.

Media brands will also be at the heart of Reconnect’s line-up, with sessions lined up from The Guardian, Twitter, News UK, Pinterest, Haymarket, Facebook, Clear Channel, Mail Metro Media, Taboola, TikTok, Teads, Azerion, Yahoo!, Blis, InSkin, Mobstar, JCDecaux,  Bidstack, Spotify, LinkedIn, Astus, and The Ozone Project.  Industry charity NABS also form part of the line-up.

Each day of Reconnect will end with entertainment, which will include a Channel 4 stand-up comedy gig, Spotify Music Quiz and Global radio DJ, Rio Frederika.

PHD UK CEO, Ali Reed said “While working remotely certainly didn’t stop our people achieving amazing things, the opportunity to enjoy and experience the face-to-face benefits of working in media have been somewhat lacking.

Reconnect is an opportunity for the agency and the clients and media owners who we’ve missed to come together for the first time for a long time.

We’re overwhelmed by the number of media brand partners who have joined us to take part and we can’t thank them enough for their support and enthusiasm.  We can’t wait for this event to remind us all why we enjoy working in what I believe, is still the best industry.”
