February 22nd saw PHD Indonesia launch its latest thought leadership piece, Merge: The closing gap between technology and us, at the STCV Lounge in Senayan.
The successful event was attended by over 200 movers and shakers from the Indonesian marketing scene, and was live-streamed through video.com to more than 8,000 viewers.
The day’s event opened with PHD Indonesia’s Managing Director Roy Simangusong taking to the stage to speak on the disruption and change the industry is currently undergoing, before handing the stage over to Sutanto Hartono, CEO of the Emtek Group. Hartono spoke on how agencies are transforming themselves to be more digitally connected to consumers.
Audiences then heard from a first panel discussion led by PHD Indonesia’s Platforms Lead, Adi Hardiana, which focused on the opportunities and challenges presented by Chatbots and Virtual Personal Assistants (VPAs). Twitter’s Business Development Lead for SEA and Australia, Dwi Adriansah, as well as Reyner Fauzan, Chief Marketing Officer at Kata. Ai joined Hardiana on stage.
The second panel of the day saw PHD Indonesia’s Associate General Manager, Shailesh Waingankar, take to the stage to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality) technology. Joining Waingankar on stage was Alexander De Leon, Facebook’s Regional Product Marketing Lead, as well as Firnando Buenayre Sirait, GM for Slingshot, a local tech platform that provides VR & AR-related solutions.
