PHD Switzerland took home a Gold and two Silver awards at the recent 2020 Effie Awards Switzerland for their work with Bank Cler on their mobile banking app, Zak. The Gold was awarded for the Media Idea category, and the Silver for New Product or Service and Data Driven categories.

In October 2018, Zak’s competitor Postfinance introduced new fees, and Zak and PHD Switzerland quickly seized the opportunity with banners on online articles about the fee introduction. The banners promoted the switch to Zak’s still-free alternative and thus addressed disappointed Postfinance customers at exactly the right moment, in exactly the right place. The measure was a huge success and, measured by the impact of the budget, 31 times more efficient (in terms of new customers won) than already efficient digital campaign running simultaneously.

Four Gold winners were selected at this year’s Effie Awards Switzerland, which awards campaigns driven by marketing effectiveness.
